Now that the Combine has come and gone, and free agency has started, things are starting to shape up a little in terms of the NFL Draft. So with that, I present my third mock draft. I will continue this all the way up to the draft, so keep checking back. As always, thoughts are appreciated.

1. Detroit Lions - Jason Smith, T, Baylor (Previous pick: Andre Smith, T, Alabama) - The Lions still go for a tackle named Smith, but this time it's Jason. It looks like Andre has hurt his stock after his Combine shenanigans.

2. St. Louis Rams - Aaron Curry, LB, Wake Forest (Previous pick: Jason Smith) - Curry has clearly emerged as the top defensive player in the draft. The Lions will likely take a long look at him.

3. Kansas City Chiefs - Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas (Previous pick: Curry) - I think KC will still go defense here, especially in light of the Cassel trade.

4. Seattle Seahawks - Eugene Monroe, T, Virginia (Previous pick: Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech) - Crabtree's injury situation, coupled with the signing of T.J. Houshmandzadeh makes Crabtree unlikely.

5. Cleveland Browns - B.J. Raji, DT, Boston College (Previous pick: Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State) - Shaun Rogers could be on his way out, so the Browns could bring in Raji to replace him.

6. Cincinatti Bengals - Andre Smith, T, Alabama (Previous pick: Monroe) - The Bengals need offensive line help with the loss of Stacy Andrews, so Smith is an obvious choice.

7. Oakland Raiders - Michael Crabtree, WR, (previous pick: Raji) - Crabtree completes the young but unproven offensive trio along with JaMarcus Russell and Darren McFadden.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars - Michael Oher, T, Ole Miss (Previous pick: same) - Jacksonville needs the offensive line help. The pick stays the same even though a lot of people have him sliding.

9. Green Bay Packers - Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois (Previous pick: Orakpo) - Green Bay needs defensive help, and Davis seems to have leaped past Jenkins.

10. San Francisco 49ers - Everette Brown, DE/LB, Florida State (Previous pick: same) - The 49ers might also look at someone like Jeremy Maclin, who could upgrade their passing game, especially if they somehow manage to land Kurt Warner.

11. Buffalo Bills - Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia (Previous pick: same) - It's nearly impossible to see Stafford slipping this far, but none of the above teams make any sense to me. Maybe the Lions, Rams or Jaguars, but they all have more pressing needs.

12. Denver Broncos - James Laurinaitis, LB, Ohio State (Previous pick: same) - Denver has been active in free agency so far, but I still think they go for defense here.

13. Washington Redskins - Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU (Previous pick: Aaron Maybin, DE/LB, Penn State) - With the release of Jason Taylor, the 'Skins have even less of a pass rush from the outside. Jackson will help that.

14. New Orleans Saints - Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State (Previous pick: V. Davis) - New Orleans needs to upgrade its secondary, so Jenkins makes sense.

15. Houston Texans - Aaron Maybin, DE/LB, Penn State (Previous pick: William Moore, S, Missouri) - This pick will likely be a defensive guy, though Mark Sanchez is intriguing here as well.

16. San Diego Chargers - Rey Maualuga, LB, USC (Previous pick: same) - This one just makes too much sense as well. San Diego needs an upgrade at linebacker and Maualuga should be available.

17. New York Jets - Mark Sanchez, QB, USC (Previous pick: Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri) - New York still desperately needs a singal caller. Sanchez could be the guy.

18. Chicago Bears - Eben Britton, T, Arizona (Previous pick: D.J. Moore, CB, Vanderbilt) - Defense is still a possibility, but Chicago also might go for the offensive line upgrade.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Brian Cushing, LB, USC (Previous pick: Knowshown Moreno, RB, Georgia) - With the signing off Derrick Ward and the recovery of Cadillac Williams, Moreno won't be the pick anymore. With the release of Derrick Brooks and Cato June, however, linebacker becomes a glaring need.

20. Detroit Lions - Josh Freeman, QB, Kansas State (Previous pick: Sanchez) - Detroit gets their quarterback of the future in Freeman, who can sit and watch Daunte Culpepper for a year or two.

21. Philadelphia Eagles - Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Oklahoma State (Previous pick: same) - Philly will need a tight end, and Pettigrew is the best available this year.

22. Minnesota Vikings - Louis Delmas, S, Western Michigan (Previous pick: Britton) - The Vikings are a pretty complete team, but do have weaknesses in the secondary.

23. New England Patriots - Clay Matthews, LB, USC (Previous pick: Cushing) - The trade of Mike Vrabel opens up a spot at linebacker.

24. Atlanta Falcons - Peria Jerry, DT, Ole Miss (Previous pick: same) - Atlanta fills a need with Jerry.

25. Miami Dolphins - Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee (Previous pick: T.Jackson) - Under Bill Parcells, the Dolphins will probably go for either offensive or defensive line.

26. Baltimore Ravens - Alex Mack, C, California (Previous pick: Ciron Black, T, LSU) - The loss of Jason Brown just increases the need for offensive lineman in Baltimore.

27. Indianapolis Colts - William Moore, S, Missouri (Previous pick: Duke Robinson, G, Oklahoma) - Moore is good value this late in the first round, and with Bob Sanders always an injury risk, he could see immediate playing time.

28. Philadelphia Eagles - Knowshown Moreno, RB, Georgia (Previous pick: Chris Wells, RB, Ohio State) - This would be an incredible steal this late for Philly. Correll Buckhalter is gone, and Brian Westbrook is always banged up. Moreno would fit great.

29. New York Giants - Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri (Previous pick: Percy Harvin, WR, Florida) - This is also a steal if Maclin falls this far. New York definitely needs receiving help if Amani Toomer is truly done.

30. Tennessee Titans - D.J. Moore, CB, Vanderbilt (Previous pick: Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland) - The Titans have addressed receiver this offseason, so they will probably look to keep improving a dominant defense.

31. Arizona Cardinals - Chris Wells, RB, Ohio State (Previous pick: LeSean McCoy, RB, Pittsburgh) - Arizona has a handful of talented young backs to choose from late in the first round.

32. Pittsburgh Steelers - Alphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest (Previous pick: Max Unger, C, Oregon) - Pittsburgh might lose Bryant McFadden, so Smith could help ease that loss.

Justin: We'll see. Unger could definitely still be the pick. But I think the Steelers will at least consider adding secondary help.

your mothers ass and ELLIOT: I'm not convinced Stafford will fall that far. He almost certainly won't. But to me, all of the teams in front of Buffalo either have their quarterbacks, or have already invested in high draft picks at quarterback. The Jaguars might be a possibility, but they just gave Garrard a ton of money. The Lions would be FOOLISH to take Stafford, in my opinion. Stafford isn't a can't-miss talent, and if they don't look at their past history with high drafts, then the new management is no better than Millen. Jason Smith or Aaron Curry make such more sense, and they will have a much more positive impact.

Dr. Zoidberg: I'm sorry my mock is bad in your eyes, but I hardly feel bad. I'd be interested to see your picks. You should post them and we can compare.

Your Father: ...?

The Steelers have a CB to step in. I would guess you previous selection with Max Unger, C, Oregon would make a lot more sense. As for the Bills, they need anything they can get with the 11th pick. If they were fortunate enough to get Stafford it would remind me of the Steelers situation with Big Ben.

really??? you think the bills will take a qb with the 11th overall pick... seems a bit odd to see that or stafford dropping to the bills. thanks anyways.

ELLIOT says on Thursday, March 12th at 5:18pm

Bills a QB, hahahaha, Dick & co. must want to get fired.
