I cannot say how happy I am to see the news come out this weekend about A-Rod. I think the fact that he went on national TV and straight up lied to America is despicable.
I once loved Barry Bonds growing up a Pittsburgh Pirate fan. I had his poster, baseball cards and wore his Jersey. I did the same for A-Rod when he was in Seattle. I looked up to both players as being at the top of their game, physically and mentally. They pulled one over on America and shame on them.
They both deserve what is coming to them in the next couple of months.

What I really can't believe is that Selig made 18 million dollars last year in a down economy and with a few teams barely having that as their payroll. He is a piece of work and to be honest I am not sure if he has ever had the best interest of the game in mind.
What I think is more despicable is how Major League Baseball, at the very least, looked the other way regarding performance enhancing drugs, and, quite possibly, encouraged owners and general managers to look the other way if their players used these substances because "chicks dig the long ball." And so do fans and, especially sports writers. I don't think Bonds, Rodriguez, McGwire, et al cheated. They were just doing what big boss told them to do. Baseball is all the richer for it today. That is despicable. You can already guess what Selig is going to say: "This is a sad day for baseball ... yadda yadda yadda." What is said is that five first-ballot Hall of Famers might never sniff Cooperstown because of his immoral love of money over the game.
