I read a couple of weeks ago that the Redskins were laying off employees because of the economic downturn.   I know the rumors are that they are not going to pursue Haynesworth or any other big name this offseason, but you have to wonder.  Would one less high-priced, overpaid offensive lineman allow them to keep the employees they layed off?  Did the signings of Brandon Lloyd and Adam Archuletta seal the fate for these twenty employees?  Lloyd certainly was paid well enough to pay 50 employee salaries.

I just hope I don't read the following story:

The Washington Redskins signed Albert Haynesworth to a 5 year, $120 million dollar deal with a $25 million dollar signing bonus.  To make room, the Redskins told 40% of their employees that they were being let go due to the economic downturn.
