I really couldn't think of a more clear way of expressing my feelings about the MLB playoffs. The playoffs simply rule. I have truly cherished all eight games that have been played already. Each one has been awesome in a different way. For example, the Diamondbacks beating the Cubs 3-1 in game one of their series was sweet because Brandon Webb is the man. And I love watching him pitch, especially when he's in the zone. Then there was the Indians' 12-3 win in game one of the New York-Cleveland series, which was great simply because I don't like the Yankees. It's also pretty amazing to me that every series is 2-0. I wonder if all four series will be sweeps, and if so, when was the last time (if ever) that something like that happened? Tonight's games in the NL should be interesting. Philadelphia is done. They aren't playing horribly, and in fact are a great team. But this is a classic case of just running into a team that is playing other-world baseball. No matter how well the Phillies play, they won't stop the surging Rockies. As far as my D-Backs go, I believe they will sweep the Cubs tonight as well. I'm confident with Livan Hernandez toeing the rubber, as he has been in big game playoff situations before. There's little doubt in my mind that the Red Sox will advance to the ALCS. But I'm not sold on the Indians yet. More accurately, I'm not writing off the Yankees yet. This team is too talented to just roll over and get swept. I think New York will make a series out of it. I still stand by my prediction of the Red Sox winning the World Series, but I'm seriously enjoying the way my Diamondbacks are playing. I'm just worried about the potential match up with Colorado. Although, a Red Sox-Rockies World Series would be just awesome. We'll see what happens, starting with tonight's games. Enjoy the show everyone.
