Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey fight was a dud, but crowd of 50,994 was another triumph for Cowboys Stadium
-- by Dallas News 2 days ago.
That the crowd of 50,994 gathered for a prize fight and had to settle for a booby prize and did not boo Clottey''s plodding posing in round after round is a tribute to the stadium''s wonderment. Once again, the giant video board was mesmerizing and the presentation around the ring was electric. It was a spectacle. Still, Cowboys cheerleaders singing the national anthem should not show better moves in the ring than one of the featured fighters.

"I applaud Emmitt Smith''s induction into the NFL Hall of Fame and, from what I understand, he''s a heck of a dancer. I think we''ve only met once briefly at an NFL function in 2000. I will say, however, that I like to think of myself as being a compassionate person, except toward the Dallas Cowboys."

Sixteen combinations for Super Bowl Sunday - South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com
-- by Sun Sentinel 3 weeks ago.
5. Cowboys/Colts: Neither quarterback is a kicker''s best friend. Manning called one an "idiot." Romo has had trouble holding for one. Most will say that this appearance means Romo has officially arrived, so long as he arrives back from Cabo in time for kickoff.

Emotional LaDainian Tomlinson 'Excited About the Future' -
-- by Fanhouse 3 weeks ago.
Dude I''m happy that the Saints won the Super Bowl... But don''t come in here disrespecting the Dallas Cowboys. The Saints don''t even come close to our legacy. And don''t respond with the same old tired Dallas/criminal player argument... Giants had L.T. - Bengals had Henry - Raiders had Russell - Rams had Phillips - My point is all teams have bad apples... And as far as L.T. is concerned.. We don''t need an aging back... And the Saints have reggie bush and that other back (can''t think of his name now) who is a nice compliment to Bush. Don''t talk stupid dude.

Thursday-and-Long: Could Rams Take Bradford at No. 1? -
-- by Fanhouse 5 weeks ago.
Teams looking for QB help are bugging the Eagles, who could deal two of their three quarterbacks -- Donovan McNabb, Kevin Kolb and Michael Vick -- this off-season. But teams in need of running back help are likewise interested in seeing what the Cowboys are planning to do with their three-headed backfield monster of Marion Barber, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice. There have been rumblings about Dallas dealing Choice, but the Cowboys are more interested in moving Barber, who broke down a bit this year and could continue to lose carries as Jones continues to improve. The Cowboys are likely to enter 2010 as a popular Super Bowl favorite and could also keep all three backs ...

Smith's Soulful Journey Ends in Canton -
-- by Fanhouse 6 weeks ago.
More Options I''ll never forget Emmit Smith in the last Superbowl Game that Dallas played against Buffalo. Everybody knew that Smith had a seperated shoulder and naturally there was a lot of speculation in the media about whether he would play in that game or not. He played and he buried us, rushing for 108 yards. Jim Kelly was the heart of our team. And though we had great players like Thurmon Thomas and Andre Reed, who incidently both players were fully capable of sitting themselves out of a game on a whim, which they had done prior to the playoffs. I couldn''t imagine anybody from out team doing what Emmit Smith did and making the sacrifice that he made. And realistically a player wouldn''t be expected to go out on the field with a seperated shoulder and be ready and willing and active on every down. Especially playing the position that he played. But at the onset of the game when it was announced that he definitely would suit up and play, I realized the incredibly painful realization that that''s what the Dallas Cowboys had that would propel them and Emmit Smith both on to greatness, and what we lacked.

No regret in Terrell Owens after decade of controversy, success
-- by USA Today 7 weeks ago.
The question may have surprised him because earlier in the conversation he was informed that he had been chosen the best receiver of the 2000s by USA TODAY. But the enigmatic Buffalo Bills wideout did not object to being asked whether he harbored regrets, knowing things had ultimately ended badly for him with the San Francisco 49ers (eight seasons), Philadelphia Eagles (two) and Dallas Cowboys (three) despite ranking among the elite to play the position in every major statistical category.

Team MVPs for 2009: Who were NFL's top performers this year?
-- by USA Today 7 weeks ago.
Yes, QB Tony Romo helped the team shake its December woes. Yes, WR Miles Austin emerged from anonymity, making the team''s decision to dump Terrell Owens look like a wise one after he gained an NFC-leading 1,320 receiving yards. But do the Cowboys earn a playoff spot without Ware''s heroics? He registered a team-high 11 sacks even though he dealt with various injuries and had to face even more double teams because of the departure of fellow OLB Greg Ellis. Ware''s signature game came in Week 15. Six days after he was carted off the field with a scary neck injury, he sacked New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees twice, forcing fumbles both times, including one on New Orleans'' final drive, as Dallas ended the Saints'' bid for a perfect season while fueling its own successful drive to the top of the NFC East.

Zebra Report: Rice's Low Block, Brooking's Taunting and More -
-- by Fanhouse 8 weeks ago.
More Options I don''t give a dam if it was a professional football game and players are paid to stop another from scoring. This was a classact on the part of the WHOLE Vikings organization. They clearly had the Cowboys whipped that day and there was no need to TAUNT the Cowboys further. This is BS when this article states Brooking''s was the taunter. Someone slaps YOU in the face, I am sure you are just going to watch them walk away laghing and smiling like Favre did. This was clearly a situation were Favre took a cheat shot at the Cowboys for all the misery they gave him in the past. Yeah yeah yeah I here it all from you Cowboys haters. As for the Cowboys beating the Easgles 34-14 and using that sorry excuse about how the Cowboys did the same thing the week before, there was a lot of time left for the Eagles to score. Not just 2 dam minutes that could have been expired with kneel downs!

Report: Cowboys to Retain Wade Phillips -
-- by Fanhouse 8 weeks ago.
Dave obviously your "attraction" was passing in any event. I''m guessing that you are a fair weather fan. As for the Cowboys what coach is out there right now that could come in and make a difference and WIN immediately? Cower maybe..... but why change what''s been working, the Boys have improved each year but they need some depth at some positions. Fact of the matter is they were out played Sunday, not by FAVRE but by the ENTIRE Vikings team. Minnesota showed up and Dallas did not. This was a TEAM loss not one mans. Cowboys fan for life!!!!

Report: Bills Plan to Hire Chan Gailey as Head Coach -

Gailey spent two seasons as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, going 10-6 in 1998 and 8-8 in 1999, and losing in the first round of the playoffs in both seasons. He was also the head coach at Georgia Tech from 2002 to 2007. His most recent job was in Kansas City, where he was dismissed as offensive coordinator during the 2009 preseason. Read More:Bills

Latest Step Back Can't Erase Romo's 2009 Progress -
-- by Fanhouse 8 weeks ago.
Please read the article by Jim Trotter from Sports Illustrated, he says it all. If the Cowboys had any kind of coaching staff they would have adjusted to Minnesota''s all out rush by 1) moving the pocket, 2) rolling Romo out and/or 3) throwing screens. Even high school teams understand these rather rudimentary tricks of the trade. As to Romo and his decision making, he reverted back to his old game blowing antics. That interception that he threw was inexcusable, and he had happy feet all afternoon. As long as Romo is the quarterback and Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett are coaches, the Cowboys will continue to be pretenders as opposed to contenders. And by the way, whose stupid idea was it to have Jason Witten block at Jarred Allen? The answer to that question tells you all you need to know about the "braintrust" of the Cowboys.

Fantasy Picks, Week 17
-- by Post Gazette 11 weeks ago.
LeSean McCoy, RB, Eagles at Cowboys. Now that Brian Westbrook is back, the rookie is stuck in a full-fledged committee backfield. Factor in Dallas'' fifth-ranked run defense, which has turned up the heat down the stretch, and both Philly backs belong on your bench.

'Stunned' Saints Fans Hoping for Best, Fearing the Worst -
-- by Fanhouse 11 weeks ago.
Fact is they dont look like the same team from earlier thi year because its not the same team , but it will be come the first playoff game. If you can remember how dominant they were over teams with their starting talent in then you know what to expect when we plug those guys back in.... all you writers take a deep breath and calm down. Considering all the important injuries and that they have still been in every game and had a chance to win every game despite losing turnover battles bad (Dallas game) and missing game winning field goals (Tampa game) it actually proves they are a real contender. Now if they lost those players and then started getting blown out by teams then you could label them as pretenders (and a lot of writers are acting like they have been getting blown out just so they can have a story to write about - I mean we did have a 17-0 lead before P. Thomas got hurt Sunday Nancy) but thats just not whats going on....

Predicting the Playoffs: A Nearly Drama Free NFC -
-- by Fanhouse 13 weeks ago.
(New Orleans, Washington, Philadelphia): There''s not been a lot of good news for Cowboys fans this December, but here''s something for the optimistic Cowboys fan--if Dallas wins out, they will win the NFC East. Of course doing that involves beating the Saints and Eagles in games where Dallas will be an underdog. If Dallas loses this week, the real trouble begins. The Giants hold the head-to-head advantage over the Cowboys, so they would knock out Dallas in any tie that doesn''t include the Eagles. Dallas also loses a head-to-head tiebreaker with the Packers. In other words, Dallas won''t get any breaks if they can''t turn around their December slide.

Miami Dolphins: Long after whistle, Chad Henne beats New York Jets again

You see why now. Romo hasn''t won a playoff game in Dallas and is on the verge of being a cautionary tale about quarterbacks. Trent Edwards never made the leap in Buffalo. There''s a list of others.

Cutler, Owens highlight 'all-New' team
-- by Yahoo 31 weeks ago.
Forget all the typical T.O. shtick and just look at Owens' numbers in his first year with his past two teams. In his debut season with the Eagles in 2004, he caught 77 passes for 1,200 yards (15.6 yards per catch) and 14 touchdowns in 14 starts. In his debut season with the Cowboys in 2006, he caught 83 passes for 1,180 yards (13.9 yards per catch) and 13 TDs. In a Bills offense that is expected to open way up, Owens still figures to get the job done, even at the age of 35.
